New tender for computers

BELGRADE — The Education and Sport Ministry has announced a new tender for the purchase of 30,000 computers.

“It is better to lose two months than to violate the Public Acquisition Law, which would cast a shadow on a historical action of equipping Serbian schools with personal computers,” according to the ministry.

The ministry added that it “understands the impatience of businessmen who see this as an opportunity for a nice income,” and said that they need not worry, because the tender will be announced again, though the ministry did not give any specific dates.

The first tender was announced in late October but was cancelled because only one of the four bidders fulfilled the criteria of the tender.
