Epilogue of the Aftermath

Life is back to normal in good old Belgrade. Broken glass has been cleaned off the streets, shop windows repaired or sealed, sun continued to shine and everything is back to normal after the “great people’s Kosovo protest“ that took place couple of days ago.

Body of the kid who died at the embassy is identified. Unconfirmed inside police info says that a piece of furniture that the hooligans tried to set on fire inside the embassy fell and captchured Zoran, a 20 year old student who had to came to Novi Sad from Kosovo after the bombing in ’99.

Looting blondes became global Youtube hit, with about one thousand times more hits than, say, Kostunica’s speech, once again succesfully diverting all attention from the real evil to themselves – especially after the interview they gave to B92 saying that they only did what the other 300 thousand people did – looted.

President Tadic is still missing after a peculiour speech he gave from some strange room.

The bloggers keep on blogging after a short protest break. Mooshema even recieved threats probably because of some earlier posts on Kosovo issue – she notified the police about it.

Condi says that the Serbian government is to blame for burning the embassy and the riots (maybe she is reading this blog too) and that she doesn’t like history all that much…

And still, not many people mentions those responsible for all of this that happened – including losing the Kosovo in such a way – creating the atmosphere of hatred, justifying violence, adding more fuel to the already strong emotions and not sending the police to stop the violonce – these people are the only ones I blame:

Kostunica‘s speech was basically one big “us against them” sharade, where “us” is Serbian people and Russia and “them” is European Union, USA and Kosovo Albanians.

Nikolic‘s speech threatened mostly Europe – with sentences like “Hitler couldn’t take Kosovo from us, and neither will these people today” and “don’t they dare provoke us so that we could show them how we fight for Kosovo like true Serbs”.

Kusturica, although an irrelevant character when it comes to politics, didn’t let that stop him from accusing the domestic mice who are hiding in their mouseholes.

But in the end, after all that happened these days, Kosovo remained… Kosovo.

Hi, Viktor. This is Alessandro Soler, I’m assistant editor for MEGAzine, a magazine that O Globo newspaper (second largest in Brazil, 1,2 million readers daily, headquarters in Rio de Janeiro) issues every Tuesday. I’d like to ask for your help for an article we’re preparing for the next week’s edition. I wish I could find any young blogger (15 to 30 y/o) from Kosovo, in order to interview this person about all this incredible transformation the country is passing through. Our goal is to show what’s changing in the young people’s lives there. Plus, I’d like to know your age. It’s because I’m just impressed about your blog, it’s really good, and it appears to me to be extremely necessary to talk to a serbian young blogger as well. All the riots, loots, protests, everything is certainly affecting so much you guys.

Please, write to me, if you can, with the answers.

Since now, thank you very much!

    Best regards.

    Alessandro Soler
